Chef Debi Stuckwisch’s passion for cooking was nurtured at home at a very young age. She received her earliest instruction from the caring hands of her mother and grandmother as she discovered the comfort a meal lovingly prepared brings to the family. Along with food preparation, her training also included gardening and canning.

After several years in the corporate world as a business manager in accounting departments, Debi chose to follow her heart and her love of cooking by combining her passion and her career. She enrolled in Elgin Community College’s culinary arts program. Many like Debi follow the traditional path from training to food preparation at a regular dining establishment. But Debi wanted more; she wanted to touch people one-on-one as she enriched their lives with her culinary skills.

Debi became a certified personal chef and joined the American Personal & Private Chef Association. She obtained her certification in food safety from the Illinois Department of Health & Welfare and adheres to the Personal Chef International Code of Ethics. She brings her love of cooking and award-winning talents into her clients’ homes as owner/operator of Meals Like Mom’s Personal Chef Service. Debi offers cooking classes and demonstrations as part of Cynthia Cook’s Cooking Company and also belongs to the McHenry Area and Lake Geneva chambers of commerce.
